In the cool, still calmness
all is dissolved,
silenced,

and the dawn of this day's light
emerges
dressing the shore with its beauty,
silencing the stirrings that have
already passed
from heart and mind.

In the calmness
a new voice is heard
and it is of love;
it is only of love
that tells us:
all has passed,
your on a new shore,
and so
bathe within its light
and just enjoy it.

The clouds mark patterns on the sand 
and the sun's light rolls down the shore 
before them. 

The ice-cream cart, 
pulled by a hand pursuing his business,
 jingles with bells to capture our attention 
and tempt the stomach.

The ocean is vital today, 
with movement and sway caught by the breeze. 
Far out, on the horizon, the clouds have parted 
and the sun's glow illuminates with silver light
that place of the ocean's expanse.

Yet everything is shifting in a moment 
and soon the sun, 
once again, 
will grace the sands and the surf with its presence, 
and like christmas lights that have suddenly found their purpose 
the shining rays will dance upon the shore, 
to warm the bodies that have been unprepared 
for this changeable wind-swept day.

I, however, was prepared, 
and snuggled in my wrap and sweater 
I enjoy the sun's day
—that's determined by the sun's shifting sway--
and the dance of light and shadows.

The sun has just heard my call 
and its golden rays have returned to the beach 
and its light shines upon my gleeful face, 
on this day where all is held in perfection before me, 
and all is at peace within me, 
through the acceptance of the life I've been given 
and the great blessing to rest before the sun 
on this new shore.

Summer time
with the heat of the day
and warming breeze,
and the coolness of the tree's shade
that is eagerly embraced.

The birds come out from their shade and twitter
as the sun descends
welcoming their playtime,
with passers by
offering them a crumb or two
—just for dessert.

The blue-green ocean reflecting the sun
is a nectar I shall miss
as fall comes and brings with it
its own gifts,
of a tapestry of clouds that reflect the light
in such majesty of beauty
in the changing colors of the day's end.

But, its still summer
with many delights still to be enjoyed.
The shimmering leaves turning to gold
through the brightness of the day.

The cooling nights
with open windows
invites the sounds of the evening
that rock me to sleep,
and the bright early mornings
filled with enthusiasm
for this season of play,
of joy,
of fun,
where my child-like wonder is
awakening
as the hand of the day
beckons me
to come out and play
in the sun.

The sun's warmth touches my skin,
the waters of the shore cool my feet,
and all heaviness is lifted from my heart.

And beyond the shore the dolphins move
through the rolling tide,
their silken bodies
also touched by water and light.

Joy arises in those of us remaining
on the beach, late in the day,
and we are so glad that we stayed,

for this is a dolphin day
at this quiet cove of white sands
and sunlit waters.
It is a quiet place with familiar faces
that gather here,
illuminated by what they see
as today is a dolphin day for them also

—a day when all is well
and beauty abounds
and the gift of joy was given
by our dolphin friends.

A thousand lights glisten upon the water
as glitter laid upon the ocean's blue
capturing the light as stars twinkling,
joyful,
celebrating life
like a crowd applauding
at the beauty of this day.

Upon a new shore,
where grace holds presence
and love is known,
the light rests upon the horizon.
