Pitter Patter

The pitter patter of tiny feet
dance across the floor
with a spring of lightness,
an air of playfulness,
in a joyous celebration
of new life.

Her heart has found me
as I found hers'
and we dance together,
hands in paws.

Most of all her softness
and pitter patter comes
as she steps oh so closely
on my heart
and rests beneath my chin
where purring and cooing ensues.
