The Yellow Butterfly

7/28/2012

The yellow butterfly
breaks free of her casing,
the cocoon of her former existence,
so that she can spread her golden-yellow wings
and feel the expanse of the air
beneath them,
and move here and there
in a greater joy
than she would of otherwise known.

And so her beauty and rapturous delight
can be seen by those
still standing in the sun
waiting to find their own "wings"
that they might also take flight.
